Pearl completed her degree in Actuarial Science in May 2021. She passed both Exam P and Exam FM on in July 2020 and February 2021, respectively. She will be sitting for Exam IFM in November 2021. She had the pleasure to work on a project called COVID Between the Coasts for WNIN. She worked with a team to find relationships between COVID-19 and demographics within different cities in the Midwest. Her data consulting aided them in discovering unique stories to report in those cities. In addition, she helped create a Shiny app for the public to see the spread of the virus. During the summer of 2019, she worked for North Main Systems as an intern. She learned how to use QuickBooks quickly and effectively to create invoices, balance sheets, and keep information organized. She worked on projects to set prices for new products and services with Excel sheets. This experience introduced her to business basics. Actuarial science is exciting to her with its practical and challenging applications.
