University of Evansville Announces Continued Learning Program

Posted: Monday, July 11, 2016

The Center for Adult Education at the University of Evansville has announced the creation of a continued learning program designed for individuals approaching or at retirement age. Continued Learning @ UE will launch in fall 2016 and is designed to satisfy the intellectual interests and curiosity of a broad spectrum of Evansvillians.

Each 60-90 minute course will meet once a week for five weeks. Personal enrichment, non-credit courses for this fall will include:

  • Giants of Jazz
  • Untap and Revive your Hidden Creativity
  • A Hemingway Discussion
  • Color Inspirations: How to use color in painting
  • Introduction to Africa

“This format gives you plenty of time to develop a new skill, engage in discussion on a new topic, and socialize with like-minded individuals who are also excited to learn,” says Lindsay Roberts, associate director of the Center for Adult Education at UE. “Plus, our members receive exclusive benefits.”

These exclusive member benefits include discounted rates to special events, a mid-semester lunch and learn, exclusive invitation-only events, and more.

“The program offers more than exposure to dynamic, interesting topics,” said Walt Lewis, former educator and member of the program’s steering committee. “It also provides an opportunity to interact with great instructors as well as new and current lifetime learners.”

Members can join for $100, and University of Evansville alumni receive a special $90 rate. A modest per course fee of $30.00 is required for most courses.

Registration is now open and interested individuals may call 812-488-3101 or register online at https://www.evansville.edu/clue.
