Administrative Assistant – School of Health Sciences

The University of Evansville invites applications for the Administrative Assistant position in the School of Health Sciences (SHS), part of the College of Education and Health Sciences. This role is a vital point of contact for prospective students, current students, faculty, and alumni, and supports a growing department with over 200 students, four undergraduate majors, and two graduate programs.

Position Overview:

The Administrative Assistant serves as the face of the School of Health Sciences, offering administrative and operational support to a team of 8 full-time faculty and 20 adjunct professors. This role includes a broad range of responsibilities from budget management and student engagement to recruitment and lab oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a central point of communication for students, faculty, and alumni
  • Coordinate monthly budget reporting and P-Card responsibilities for the department
  • Assist with recruitment, including high school visits and prospective student interactions
  • Manage communication flow between students and faculty, including directing inquiries appropriately
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of four instructional labs
  • Provide general administrative support including scheduling, data entry, and event coordination

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2–3 years of administrative experience, preferably in an academic or student-facing environment
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with high school or college students is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office systems
