Graduate Assistant – Sports Performance Coach

The University of Evansville is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Sports Performance Coach to support its NCAA Division I athletic programs. This is a hands-on position ideal for an aspiring strength and conditioning professional seeking experience in a collegiate setting while pursuing a graduate degree.

Position Responsibilities:

The Graduate Assistant will assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Performance and be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing the physical preparation of assigned sport teams
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for all varsity teams
  • Maintaining and organizing the university’s weight room and equipment
  • Supporting sport-specific performance goals, injury prevention strategies, and recovery protocols
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned to support the athletic department's performance initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certified (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • CSCS or SCCC certification (preferred or actively pursuing)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Previous experience in a strength and conditioning environment (collegiate level preferred)
