Administrative Assistant – School of Engineering and Computer Science
The University of Evansville invites applications for the position of Administrative Assistant in the School of Engineering and Computer Science. This full-time position provides vital administrative support to the faculty, staff, students, and reports to the Associate Dean. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for working in a dynamic, student-focused environment.
This position includes full-time benefits, including tuition remission for dependents at the University of Evansville.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the School of Engineering and Computer Science
- Manage phone, email, and postal mail communications with professionalism and efficiency
- Coordinate and oversee special projects in collaboration with faculty and staff to ensure timely completion
- Provide budget and purchasing support, including record keeping and reconciliation
- Assist faculty, staff, and students with making travel arrangements
- Maintain and monitor office supply inventory, reordering as needed
- Support the overall mission, vision, and day-to-day operations of the School of Engineering and Computer Science
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- Proficiency with computer applications including word processing and databases
- Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine enjoyment of working with students
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional planning and time management abilities with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated discretion, diplomacy, and confidentiality in handling sensitive matters
- Positive, solutions-oriented mindset and strategic problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Capability to plan and execute projects and events effectively
