I graduated with a bachelor of science in communication, specializing in advertising and public relations. Not only did the excellent course work and outstanding professors provide me with the knowledge to take my skill-set to the next level, but UE also provided me with great internship connections that allowed me to enter the working field in a well-structured environment to begin developing my career. I was able to do two internships in Evansville during my senior year of college. Neither of these would have been possible if it weren't for the Center for Career Development. I was able to have an event planning/marketing internship with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure with the Greater Evansville Affiliate. There I was able to plan several small events as well as help plan Evansville's Race for the Cure. My second internship was at the Evansville Courier & Press. There I interned in the multimedia department and had the opportunity to work on content management of their website, put together media packets for the candidates participating in the November 2011 elections, and create video packages for the candidates. Lastly, I even got to host a weekly show where we featured pets that were for adoption at local humane shelters in the Evansville area. Through these internships, I was given the opportunity to gain real life experience working in my field of study.
