UE Experiences

UE has one of the few undergraduate programs that focuses exclusively on Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology. The department is very active, and there were frequent lectures or other events in which we could participate. The faculty was very accessible - I regularly had coffee or informal conversations with my advisor (Dr. Kaiser) who would coach me on graduate school programs, excavation opportunities, or research topics. I had a lot of energy and drive, and UE went to great lengths to help me channel it.

Study Abroad Experiences

As an undergraduate, I studied at Harlaxton in the Spring of 2004. As an archaeology student, this provided me with an unparalleled opportunity to see first hand many of the sites that we studied in school. After my term ended, I traveled to Italy and spent a week in Rome and Naples, and so I was able to make my pilgrimage to Pompeii. As a graduate student, I was able to work in Spain, but it was certainly my experiences in UE that showed me a path to make it all possible.
