Dr. Aura is an assistant professor of Clinical Psychology. Prior to this, she was a postdoctoral associate at the University of Louisville. She worked as the assistant director of Cardinal Success Program (CSP); an organization that focused on providing mental health services to the underserved and insured population in west Louisville. While at the university of Louisville, Dr. Aura participated in a year-long leadership training program by the Kentucky Psychological Association. During this time, she completed a project aimed at equipping mental health professionals with information on how to work with immigrant families. Dr. Aura graduated with her masters and doctorate degrees in school psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. As part of her training, she worked extensively in school systems in East Texas, providing mental health services to children and their families. Dr. Aura completed her doctoral internship in Easterseals Rehabilitation Center in Evansville, Indiana, where she participated in clinical child outpatient, youth residential assessment, pediatric group therapy, and adult/residential service rotations. Her interests are in psychological assessments, as well as the impact of mental health on diverse populations. She is especially interested in the provision of mental health services to meet their diverse needs of immigrant families. Prior to joining graduate school, Dr. Aura lived and worked in Nairobi, Kenya.
