About Us

TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded program through the US Department of Education. The program is funded to provide services to students from first generation and limited income families as well as students with disabilities.

Mission Statement

TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) provides academic support services that help first generation, low-income households, and students with disabilities to persist and graduate from college.

Program Objectives

Our program goals are consistent with our funding objectives. SSS at UE is funded to achieve the following objectives:

  1. Eighty percent (80%) of all participants served by the SSS Project will persist from one academic year to the beginning of the next academic year or will have earned a bachelor's degree at the University of Evansville during the academic year.
  2. Ninety-five percent (95%) of all enrolled SSS participants being served will meet the performance level required to stay in good academic standing at the University of Evansville.
  3. Seventy percent (70%) of new participants served each year will graduate from the University of Evansville with a bachelor's degree or equivalent within six (6) years.
