Who we are

Core Faculty and Staff

All faculty members on the UE campus are invited to participate and engage with the Institute whether through teaching, research, or service activities related to public health. Because the Institute seeks to develop a forum and platform for multi-disciplinary public health activities, the success of the Institute depends on leveraging the strengths of our small liberal arts university to aim for and achieve innovative solutions to the most pressing public health issues in our region.

Students

UE students, and in particular those in our public health programs, can use the Institute as a place to engage with faculty in research, find an internship, or lead a community-based project on their own under the guidance of faculty mentors. A primary goal of the Institute is to provide students with hands-on public health experience and we encourage any student looking for ways to directly affect the health of southwestern Indiana to collaborate with us.

Community Members

The Institute aims to be a place where community organizations seeking public health expertise can find it. Moreover, and in order to connect the Institute with our local community, representatives from the community serve on the Institute's advisory board. The Institute, through its focus on community-engaged research, teaching, and service, will develop mechanisms through which community members and organizations can find the expertise and assistance that will allow them to improve the health of southwestern Indiana.
