BA in International Studies
The international studies program is designed to offer students a strong foundation in international relations, political science, and foreign languages. This interdisciplinary major is based on the understanding that twenty-first century problems and careers are not constrained to a single academic discipline. Each student is encouraged to explore his or her unique talents, needs, and career goals and is not forced into archaic academic boundaries.
Bachelor of Arts in International Studies students must take three years of one foreign language or two years of two foreign languages, including:
Students also complete an international studies core (consisting of courses in international relations, world politics, economics, culture, and research methods) as well as an area concentration or regional specialization (choices include the regions of Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, as well as global business and teaching English as a new language).
