Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration - Rally and Symbolic March

11:45 a.m., Monday, January 20, 2020

Carson Center, Meeks Family Fieldhouse, University of Evansville Campus, 1800 Lincoln Ave, Evansville, IN

Historically, the March on Washington broadened the base of the civil rights movement. The March was not a black action; it was a feat by blacks and whites together, all people. Not just the leaders of the black organizations, but clergy, political leaders, and community spokespeople called for change. UE commemorates the March of Washington through a Symbolic March through campus as a celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and other civil rights leaders of that time.

Rally begins 11:45 a.m., Symbolic March begins at noon at the Meeks Family Fieldhouse.
