Administrative Assistant - Center for Student Engagement
The University of Evansville invites applications for the position of Administrative Assistant for the Center for Student Engagement (CSE). This is a full-time, hourly position that reports to the Director of Student Engagement and plays a key role in supporting the daily operations, programs, and services that impact the student experience.

CSE is home to more than 100 registered student organizations, including 12 Greek Life chapters. The center also oversees Orientation Programming, Leadership Development, Community Service Initiatives, the Aces Haven on-campus food pantry, Student Government Association (SGA), and campus traditions like Winter on Walnut, Purple Palooza, and Homecoming. Position Overview
The Administrative Assistant oversees the logistical and support operations for CSE and serves as a key point of contact for students, parents, faculty, and staff. This role requires strong coordination skills, the ability to function autonomously, and initiative in creating and improving administrative processes.
Key Responsibilities
Orientation Support:
- Assist with coordination of new student orientation (SOAR), including registration, communication, event logistics, materials development, and scheduling.
- Maintain student registration records, update web and social media platforms, and support orientation leaders and staff.
Student Organization Support:
- Oversee registration, event approval, room reservations, and risk management for student organizations.
- Serve as the campus administrator for Engage (Anthology platform) and maintain the system in collaboration with vendor support.
CSE Desk Operations:
- Supervise 4 student workers and maintain the professionalism and effectiveness of all CSE desk locations.
Aces Haven Oversight:
- Manage the campus food pantry in partnership with SGA and student volunteers.
- Coordinate food drives and events; ensure cleanliness and inventory with the help of a student worker.
Cross-Department Coordination:
- Serve as a liaison with departments such as Student Accounts, Marketing, Facilities, Admissions, and IT to support CSE initiatives.
- Administrative & Operational Support:
- Provide direct support to the Director of Student Engagement.
- Generate reports related to budgets, participation, and programs.
- Maintain digital and physical filing systems, manage office supplies, and update department websites.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred
- Previous administrative or office support experience, ideally in higher education
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace
- Ability to multitask and work both independently and collaboratively
- Availability for occasional evening or weekend work during peak orientation periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with student engagement or student services
- Familiarity with platforms such as Colleague, WebAdvisor, Slate CRM, Informer, UEngage (Anthology Engage), and MyUE
- Experience working directly with college students in a service or support role
