Coordinator of Employer Relations
The University of Evansville invites applications for the part-time position of Coordinator of Employer Relations within the Center for Career Development (CCD). This nine-month, contractual role (up to 20 hours per week) is integral to building relationships with employers, alumni, students, and other partners to foster meaningful career opportunities, especially in Indiana and the surrounding regions. A hybrid remote work arrangement is available for qualified candidates.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of the Center for Career Development, the Coordinator of Employer Relations is responsible for enhancing communication, programming, and technology platforms that connect students and alumni with employers. This position supports the planning and execution of career fairs, forums, and special events while maintaining and expanding the utilization of career services technologies, such as Handshake.
Key Responsibilities
- Strengthen collaborations between local institutions of higher education, alumni, and employers to expand employment, internship, and graduate education opportunities for students and graduates.
- Develop and maintain employer and alumni connections with a focus on increasing opportunities for UE students, particularly within arts and sciences disciplines.
- Lead the integration and expansion of technology-driven engagement tools (e.g., Handshake) to improve communication and participation among employers, alumni, and students.
- Support staff in managing four signature career fairs: Business, Engineering, and Technology Fair, Health Careers Fair, Career Day, Teacher Recruitment Fair
- Research, recommend, and help implement additional events such as seasonal part-time job fairs, graduate school forums, and internship fairs.
- Coordinate Career Forums across academic areas with a special focus on the College of Arts and Sciences and regional opportunities in Indiana and the Evansville area.
- Collaborate on CCD programs including the Alumni Mentoring Program, Gregory S. Fehribach Center Internship Program, Diversity Scholars, Lilly Grant Summer Camp Initiatives, and external career fairs across Indiana.
- Work closely with CCD, Alumni Engagement, and campus partners to identify new opportunities for connecting alumni and employers with students and graduates.
- Assist in the development and execution of assessment processes to measure program impact, including the Senior Experiential Education Survey and the University’s annual graduate outcomes survey.
- Provide technical and operational support for CCD’s daily activities, special projects, website maintenance, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (fields such as Higher Education, College Student Personnel, Counseling, or related areas).
- Professional experience in career services or higher education.
- Strong communication, advising, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across varied stakeholders.
- Proficiency with data management tools, including Excel.
- Experience with career services platforms and web-based systems (Handshake or 12twenty preferred).
- Understanding of career development trends and practices.
- Strong organizational skills, creativity, flexibility, and a positive, team-centered approach.
- Familiarity with the University of Evansville culture is a plus.
