Financial Aid Counselor

The University of Evansville (UE) Office of Student Financial Services (SFS) is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Financial Aid Counselor to join our team starting January 19, 2025. Key Responsibilities

The Financial Aid Counselor will be responsible for advising and processing key elements of student financial assistance. Your main duties will include:

  • Student and Family Advising: Provide essential information to prospective and current students and their families regarding financial aid eligibility, renewal requirements, and the application process, both in person and online.
  • Verification & Processing: Process Verification materials for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Award Coordination: Coordinate the awarding of institutional scholarships and manage various award programs.
  • Grant & Aid Monitoring: Review and monitor aid eligibility and renewal requirements for State Grant programs.
  • Loan Assistance: Assist with the processing of federal and private educational loans.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrate a desire to be a problem solver while assisting families through the financial aid process with a calm demeanor.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of six months of customer service experience and minimum one year of administrative duties.
  • Skills: Exceptional customer service, excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and a keen attention to detail.
  • Attributes: Capability to work both independently and collaboratively; compassionate and professional demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in a financial aid setting is strongly preferred but not required.
