Assistant Professor of Education

The School of Education at the University of Evansville (UE) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Education. We are seeking a dedicated educator and scholar to contribute to the preparation of the next generation of teachers. Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Professor will play a vital role in both undergraduate and graduate teacher preparation. Your main duties will include:

  • Teaching & Curriculum: Deliver high-quality instruction in education courses across undergraduate and graduate programs. Develop and update course materials to reflect current research, best practices, and accreditation standards.
  • Clinical Supervision: Mentor and supervise students in their clinical placements. Collaborate closely with partner schools and community organizations to ensure effective student learning outcomes and professional growth.
  • Service & Leadership: Participate in departmental and university committees. Contribute actively to program development, curriculum review, and the accreditation process. Engage in professional service activities that advance the mission of the School of Education.
  • Professional Engagement: Maintain active involvement in professional organizations and educational communities. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the department chair or dean to support the school's success.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: A Doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Education.
  • Experience: Evidence of successful teaching experience in both higher education and K–12 settings.
  • Attributes: A commitment to excellence in teaching and a desire to serve the university and local educational community.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching elementary mathematics.
  • Experience supervising clinical or field-based teacher preparation programs.
  • A record of scholarly activity or demonstrated potential for research productivity.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, P-12 schools, and community partners.
