Graduate Assistant - Women's Volleyball
The University of Evansville (UE) Athletics Department is seeking a motivated and passionate Graduate Assistant for the Women’s Volleyball program. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an aspiring coach to gain hands-on experience in a competitive NCAA Division I environment while pursuing a graduate degree. Reporting directly to the Head Coach, the Graduate Assistant will be an integral part of the coaching staff, assisting in all facets of the program’s operations.
Key Responsibilities
The Graduate Assistant is responsible for executing both coaching and administrative duties as directed by the Head Coach. Your main duties will include:
- Coaching & Practice Prep: Assist in the design and execution of daily practice plans, focused on player development and technical skill refinement.
- Scouting & Game Prep: Assist in opponent scouting, film breakdown, and the development of strategic game plans.
- Recruiting: Support the coaching staff in identifying and evaluating prospective student-athletes to build a championship-level roster.
- Program Administration: Handle various administrative tasks essential to the daily operation of the women's volleyball program.
- Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to all University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Professional Interaction: Effectively communicate and interact with student-athletes, faculty, staff, the general public, and the wider campus community.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of volleyball fundamentals, strategies, and official rules.
- Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal abilities.
- Certifications: Ability to obtain and maintain CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
- Availability: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and significant travel for away competitions.
- Academic Eligibility: Must meet the requirements for admission into a University of Evansville graduate program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience: Prior collegiate playing experience is highly preferred.
- Certification: Existing coaching certifications.
- Attributes: A self-starter with a strong work ethic and a desire to pursue a career in collegiate coaching.
