My interest in Athletic Training comes from my passion for sports, fitness, and human performance. While completing my undergraduate degree in Exercise Science at the University of Southern Indiana, I completed practicum hours and spent time observing under my hometown high school athletic trainer. Through that experience, I saw firsthand the impact athletic trainers have on their athletes, coaches, parents, and communities, and I knew it was the career path I wanted to pursue.

I chose the University of Evansville because of its strong reputation, hands-on learning opportunities, and immersive clinical experiences. Since I was already living in the Evansville area, it allowed me to continue my education in a place that felt familiar.

One of my favorite things about the program has been the small class sizes and supportive environment. My professors and preceptors genuinely care about helping students succeed and are always willing to offer guidance and encouragement. During my first year in the program, I have enjoyed gaining experience at both the high school and collegiate levels. I am especially excited for my upcoming immersive clinical rotation as I enter my second year, which will help me continue building confidence and hands-on experience as I prepare for my future career.

After graduation, I am interested in exploring different opportunities within Athletic Training while continuing to grow professionally. My long-term goal is to combine my interests in health, fitness, and performance by eventually owning my own business.

I have truly enjoyed my experience at UE so far and am grateful for the opportunities, mentorship, and support the program has provided during my first year. I look forward to continuing to grow both personally and professionally throughout the remainder of the program.
