Why did you choose UE?

When I was searching for a transfer school, I wanted to find a home away from home and that’s what I found at UE. The faculty are personable and really want to help students. The opportunities and experiences offered during or after college were intriguing. The faculty really cared about helping me find the right academic pathway for me. The city is perfect for me too because it’s easy to get around, and just the right size. The weather was interesting for me too because it's mild here.

What activities or organizations have you been involved with at UE? How have these impacted your college experience?

I have been involved with the Track and Field team, Greek Life, Honor Council, Resident Student Association, Student Christian Fellowship, and more. They have helped me build lifelong relationships and connections with peers across all different backgrounds and places. It has helped me grow, learn, and develop in many ways as a man that I wouldn't get anywhere else.

Why do you recommend UE?

You will find amazing opportunities in many ways that you would still find at a larger school by going to a smaller school. You can make real relationships with the professors here who genuinely care about your success and don't look at you as a number which has been relieving for a student like me who has not always been a straight-A student.

What advice would you share with incoming students?

Don't be afraid to get to know your classmates when you get on campus because everyone will be sailing the same ship as you for the first time. Organize a weekly calendar for each semester which will be helpful for managing your time and lowering stress.
