Why I came to UE

I chose UE because I loved the small campus community, the welcoming students, faculty, and staff, and because I felt the academic expectations were high and would prepare me for a future in medical school. Also, the opportunity to study at Harlaxton helped me make up my mind!

UE Biology Experiences

I love the Biology Department, especially because there are so many ways to get involved and enhance my education and leadership skills. I served as both secretary and president of BiSci (Biological Sciences Club) which were extremely rewarding positions. In addition, I had the opportunity to get to know my professors better and enhance my education by serving as a lab assistant and completing an undergraduate research project. I also worked alongside Kate Slater and Dr. Stamm to investigate the effects of a high sugar diet on D. melanogaster longevity, fertility, and weight to connect their genetic variation to type II diabetes in humans.

Current position
