How has your major prepared you for a future career?
Biology has taught me a lot of about work ethic, time management, and responsibility. All of these things are very important for graduate school and getting a job as an orthodontist later on.
What activities or organizations have you been/were you involved with at UE?
I have served as an Admission Ambassador, an Orientation Leader, member of Black Student Union, Community Outreach Chair of the Hispanic Latinx Student Union, and President of Rotaract Club. I have also been part of NSBE and the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.
What makes UE a special place? How did our campus shape your college experience?
UE is such a wonderful place. As soon as I stepped onto campus, it felt like home. UE is like one big family, and in the little time that I have been here, I have been part of some very special clubs. Here at UE, you are not just a number like you would be at a big school. Professors truly care how you are doing in school and they want you to succeed.
What advice would you share with incoming students?
Get involved. Be Yourself. Care about your academics, it’s why you are here. Lastly, HAVE FUN!!!
Why do you recommend the University of Evansville?
Since I moved in, UE has been such a great place to learn and become a better person. I truly made the right decision in coming here and investing my time.
How has UE been affordable for you?
UE was the best school that I applied to in giving me scholarships and opportunities to obtain them. There are so many opportunities to make your education more affordable.
Did you visit UE before deciding to attend?
Yes. The one thing that I mainly remember was visiting one of my future Biology professors, Dr. Hochwender. He was one of the biggest influences in me coming to UE, and he is now one of my favorite professors. There is a professor like that for someone in every department.
Do you have anything else to share about your UE experience?
Coming to UE was the best decision I could have ever made. There is such a great community here, and I can say that I have found my place. It was truly a blessing that UE gave me great scholarships, and it was close enough to home for me to attend. If you have any questions don’t ever be afraid to reach out.
