"While fostering my real-world skills, Changelab also reinvigorated my passion to get involved in the community and tackle prevalent social issues. Given the incredible experience I had with the program, I signed up for the Changemaker Challenge. With a drive to tackle the homelessness issue in Evansville, I presented my idea at the Changemaker Challenge to create a new class on UE’s campus. This new class would let students learn new skills through an opportunity to provide affordable, sustainable housing to the homeless population in the area. With overwhelming support from staff and community members, the class quickly became a reality. This new opportunity solidified my decision to stay in the area and work to improve the community while also working as an engineer."
