Why I chose UE

I came to UE through the A.O. Smith scholarship program, which gave me the opportunity to visit UE campus during my last year of high school. I decided to come here because of the close connections between peers and faculty: the small campus makes me feel welcomed and cared for.

UE Biology Experiences

Starting sophomore year, I teamed with peers to generate a research proposal, analyzing and interpreting data to further study the effect of moonlight illumination on gecko vocalization and the effects of anthropogenic activity on snake diversity. Also, I worked with the biology department for on-campus animal, plants care, and record keeping of lab chemicals.

Campus organizations and extracurricular activities

Since freshman year, I was involved in International Club activities as a board member, through which I improved my leadership and communication skills. It was a great experience planning fun events and celebrating diversity!
