Reading Skills Program
Speed Reading and Study Strategies Program
Programs are located in Evansville.
We encourage you to enroll in the Speed Reading and Study Strategies program offered through the Center for Adult Education at the University of Evansville. In just two weekends, this course will teach you new skills that can increase your effectiveness as a reader and a student. As a result, you will be better equipped to study for tests efficiently and manage the competing demands on your time.
Speed Reading and Study Strategies, designed around the needs of college students, can help you read textbooks two times faster and other media, such as journal articles, magazines, novels, and newspapers, four times faster. Not only will you learn techniques to help you read more quickly, but you will also learn strategies for retaining and understanding information to best prepare you for examinations, papers, and your professional career.
Instruction for this course is provided by the Institute of Reading Development. The institute has provided instruction for the University of Evansville for the past 13 years and also teaches for many other leading universities and colleges. As a course participant, you will receive free lifetime course repeat privileges honored at any of the universities or colleges that offer the program. At each stage of your school or work career, the type of material you need to read may change or become more difficult. Your lifetime repeat privileges entitle you to return to any school that offers Institute of Reading Development courses at any time in order to receive instruction in the specific techniques and strategies that are best suited to the material you are reading.
