The University of Evansville competes at the highest level of collegiate athletics: NCAA Division I. UE is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference, along with such schools as Bradley, Drake, Illinois State, Indiana State, Loyola, Missouri State, Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois, and Valparaiso. The MVC, or "The Valley" as it is known, is one of the hottest athletic conferences in the Midwest.
The mission of the UE athletics department is to provide student-athletes with an opportunity to compete at the Division I level while receiving a quality education consistent with the mission of the University. The athletics experience is an extension of the educational process whereby student-athletes acquire the skill, characteristics and self-confidence that will enable them to reach their full potential, both in athletics and in life.
Evansville currently competes in 17 varsity sports at the Division I level, including:
UE students and staff broadcast Purple Aces home sporting events on ESPN3. Students may film, produce, and announce the games.
The Purple Aces (what is a Purple Ace?) have experienced success in every sport at the Division I level, and UE has a strong tradition of success both on and off of the field of play. The athletic ticket office is located in the Carson Center building at 1800 Walnut Avenue in Evansville and is open 8:30-5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday during the school year and 8:30-4:30 p.m. during the summer.
