UE Campus to Reopen Wednesday, January 28, 2026
The University of Evansville main campus will reopen for normal operations on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Campus is prepared and ready to welcome students, faculty, and staff. Facilities teams have cleared sidewalks and campus roadways, and current conditions support reopening. However, please continue to exercise caution and remain mindful of any slick spots around campus.
STUDENTS / CLASSES: In-person classes will resume as scheduled. Faculty may continue to use discretion regarding course delivery if weather-related challenges persist.
EMPLOYEES: Your safety is our top priority. Employees who have weather-related concerns or individual circumstances are encouraged to work directly with their supervisor to explore appropriate flexibility or modified work arrangements.
EVENTS: On-campus events and activities may resume as scheduled unless event organizers communicate otherwise.
The University will continue to monitor conditions and will communicate any updates as needed.
UE Campus to Remain Closed Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Due to Winter Weather
The University of Evansville main campus will remain closed on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, due to city road conditions. All campus buildings will be locked, with swipe card access available only at the Ridgway University Center. The UE Emily M. Young Mental Health Clinic will also be closed.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Facilities teams and all essential personnel who have been working around the clock to keep campus roadways and sidewalks clear and to support critical campus operations.
CLASSES: Classes are canceled, but faculty may use discretion in moving in-person classes to an online format.
DINING: Ridgway Dining will remain open, though menu options and hours may be adjusted based on staffing availability. Any schedule changes will be communicated directly to on-campus residents via email, UE Residence Life social media, and posted signage on the first floor of Ridgway.
EMPLOYEES: Campus is closed. Only essential personnel in the Offices of Public Safety and Facilities should report to campus. All other employees should not report to work unless instructed by their supervisor. Employees who are able to work remotely should plan to attend meetings virtually. Please contact your supervisor with any questions.
EVENTS: All on-campus events and activities are cancelled. Planned admission events will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
ATHLETICS: For in-season sports, teams must work closely with their coach or sport administrator regarding what activities are permissible. Final decisions will be made by the sport administrator in coordination with the Athletics Director. Please be aware that some support areas may be unable to reach campus safely.

Men's Basketball Game Postponed
The University of Evansville has postponed today’s Men’s Basketball game, originally scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Ford Center, due to ongoing travel advisories across the Tri-State and the potential for a local disaster declaration in Vanderburgh County.

Due to ongoing winter weather, slick road conditions, and low temperatures impacting campus, the University of Evansville will be closing at 2 p.m. today, Saturday, January 24, 2026 and for the duration of Sunday, January 25, 2026. All buildings will be locked; swipe card access will be available only at the Ridgway University Center. UE Emily M. Young Mental Health Clinic will also be closed.
DINING: Ridgway Dining will be open but may have adjusted options and hours depending on availability of staff. Details regarding adjusted schedules will be posted on the UE Residence Life Facebook page and any follow-up messages will be communicated directly to on-campus residents through email, digital media and/or printed signs on the first floor of Ridgway.
