UE Experiences

During my time at UE, I switched from athletic training to sports management to pursue the business side of the sports world. I was able to assist the Department of Athletics during my classes to help gain real-world, hands-on experience in my field and get to know the staff that would help me build my career from that point forward. After my junior year, the Center for Career Development helped me fill out the paperwork to receive a scholarship to help with a summer internship in community relations and merchandise for the Inland Empire Sixty-Sixers, Class A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. This experience taught me invaluable lessons about my future career. After graduation, I continued at UE as an external affairs intern in the Department of Athletics where I developed relationships with staff not only at UE but across the Missouri Valley Conference. After a few months I was promoted to the director of ticketing services and athletic event operations. UE continued to support and push me forward in my career and gave me the chance even though I was still young in my professional career. I am currently the assistant ticket office manager for Venuworks of Evansville at the Ford Center and Victory Theatre, working with two other UE alumni.
