Magical Mystical Tour of Enchanted Dwellings and Fairy Doors

This is a community art project led by the University of Evansville Friends of Art, a board run organization that supports the art students at the University of Evansville.
Area artists have created one of a kind Enchanted Dwellings and Fairy Doors - tiny whimsical entryways installed at local businesses. Curious and interested residents and visitors can explore and discover the Enchanted Dwellings and Fairy Door trail at the listed locations.

Fairy Evie is the ‘Protector of Art.’ Look for her Enchanted Dwelling hiding amongst the beautiful art on display in the Krannert Hall of Art and Music gallery. Both the Wheeler Concert Hall and the Krannert Gallery have received major recent improvements. Evie is so happy to be living here with the student and guest artist works!

Fairy Angelina’s Enchanted Dwelling can be found on the outside of Neu Chapel where the sunshine meets the beautiful Indiana limestone. It is an inclusive house of prayer and worship. Neu Chapel is a very active place of spiritual formation, gathering and worship for the University of Evansville. Listen closely to hear Angelina’s fairy bells.

Come on in to the Melvin Peterson Gallery to find Fairy Melonia’s Enchanted Dwelling. The gallery can be found at the corner of Lincoln and Weinbach across from the UE main campus. Once inside Melvin Peterson Gallery you can enjoy the exhibits by UE students, alumni and local and regional artists while you are searching for Melania’s hiding place.

Fairy Whitney’s Enchanted Dwelling is in a ‘Gem of a Place’ overflowing with lovely flowers and floral arrangements. When you walk in to Emerald Design on Main Street you might find Fairy Whitney flitting among the flowers and creating beautiful things for her friends. Weddings are her specialty and she loves designing big and small arrangements for everyone. Come in and enjoy the wonderful sights and aromas at Emerald Design.

Fairy Mirabella is just like you, she loves pizza! So you will find her Enchanted Dwelling inside a gourmet pizza shop....The Slice....near the University of Evansville. There are so many pizza flavors to choose from, but Mirabella’s favorites are Spinach Feta and Baked Potato. The Slice has been serving its yummy pizza for 35 years!

Fairy Cate and Fairy Kristi work together at Piece of Cake on Main Street. They create custom cakes and cookies for weddings and birthdays and all special occasions. You can find their Enchanted Dwelling inside the shop, and while you are there, pick a favorite cookie or cupcake. But remember, Piece of Cake always closes at 2:00 pm.
