Introduction
Imagine a Better World and Get to Work Making it Happen.
The Social Justice major empowers students to connect classroom learning with real-world action. Through courses that explore historical movements, political systems, and community engagement, students develop the insight and skills needed to analyze injustice and design solutions that create lasting change.
An interdisciplinary major housed in the Department of History, Politics, and Social Change, Social Justice helps students understand how power operates across history, religion, culture, policy, and daily life and how to transform that understanding into meaningful impact.
Through ChangeLabs, internships, fieldwork, and the Journey to Justice travel course, students gain hands-on experience turning ideas into action.
The University of Evansville is proud to be a Ashoka U Changemaker Campus, recognized globally for preparing students to act bravely, serve responsibly, and lead with integrity. Whether through public history, policy, advocacy, education, or community organizing, UE students learn to turn critical thinking into courageous action.
