Assistant Director for Student Engagement
The University of Evansville (UE) is seeking a dynamic and student-focused Assistant Director for Student Engagement. This is a full-time, live-in professional position within the Center for Student Engagement (CSE). The Assistant Director provides strategic leadership for our vibrant Greek Life community and drives high-impact campus programming. Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Director balances specialized oversight of Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) with broad campus engagement and residence life support. Your main duties will include:
Greek Life Leadership
- Chapter Support: Coordinate and promote all aspects of a 13-chapter Greek community affiliated with NIC, NPC, NPHC, and NALFO councils.
- Advising: Act as the primary advisor for Greek Life governing councils and assist organizations in living out their values through the Five Pillars of Excellence: Scholarship, Leadership, Social Interaction, Community Service, and Lifelong Siblinghood.
- Operations: Manage Greek housing, billing, and recruitment events. Develop and implement educational training and accountability processes.
- Safety: Serve on-call for Greek social events and emergency response.
Campus Programs & Engagement
- Student Activities: Advise the Student Activities Board (SAB) and provide administrative support for major campus traditions and events.
- Orientation: Partner with the Director to coordinate logistics for SOAR (Student Orientation and Academic Registration) and assist with orientation leader training.
- Supervision: Oversee the operations of the University Information Desk and supervise approximately 11 student staff members.
Residence Life & Crisis Response
- On-Call Support: Participate in the shared professional on-call rotation, providing crisis management, referrals, and upholding community standards.
- Departmental Support: Assist with central functions such as RA training, selection, or marketing as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in Greek Life (NPC, NIC, NPHC, MGC, and/or NALFO), student life management, and co-curricular programming.
- Skills: Strong supervisory, organizational, and human relations abilities with professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Technology: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and social media platforms.
- License: Must hold a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership: Previous experience in policy development, conduct/accountability processes, and student leadership development.
- Orientation: Experience with New Student Orientation programming and student staff supervision.
