Graduate Assistant - Student-Athlete Services

The University of Evansville (UE) Athletics Department is seeking a detail-oriented and student-focused Graduate Assistant for Student-Athlete Services. You will work directly with the Associate AD to ensure the integrity of our programs while empowering our student-athletes to excel in the classroom and in life.

Key Responsibilities

The Graduate Assistant plays a vital role in balancing the competitive nature of Division I athletics with the academic mission of the University. Your main duties will include:

  • NCAA Compliance Monitoring: Assist the Associate AD in monitoring and enforcing NCAA and Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) rules and regulations to maintain institutional integrity.
  • Academic Advising Initiatives: Coordinate advising programs designed to enhance the academic success, retention, and graduation rates of our student-athletes.
  • Student-Athlete Development: Assist with the development and implementation of life skills programming and other student-athlete services.
  • Integration & Support: Act as a bridge between the athletics department and the broader student body, ensuring student-athletes remain an integral part of the University community.
  • Administrative Integrity: Maintain meticulous records and perform all duties in strict compliance with University, Conference, and NCAA standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Experience: 1–2 years of experience in some capacity within collegiate athletics (can include internships, student-worker roles, or previous GA experience).
  • Availability: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, as some night and weekend hours are required.
  • Academic Eligibility: Must meet the requirements for admission into a University of Evansville graduate program.
