TRIO SSS Student Success Coach
The University of Evansville (UE) invites applications for a Student Success Coach within our TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program. This federally funded initiative is dedicated to providing comprehensive academic, personal, and career support to first-generation students, income-eligible students, and students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
The Student Success Coach provides individualized guidance and develops programming that directly impacts student retention and success. Your main duties will include:
- Individualized Coaching: Provide one-on-one academic, personal, and career coaching focused on goal setting, time management, self-advocacy, and study skills.
- Strategic Programming: Develop and implement needs-based workshops and academic enrichment activities designed to improve annual academic standing and increase graduation rates.
- Academic Leadership: Coordinate student-centered mentoring and tutoring; you may also facilitate a first-year, discussion-based course to help new students transition to college life.
- Post-Graduate Guidance: Advise students on graduate school exploration, including the admissions process and navigating financial aid options.
- Advocacy & Collaboration: Serve as a dedicated advocate for SSS participants across campus, collaborating with faculty and staff to provide a seamless support network.
- Digital Engagement: Implement and supervise digital outreach strategies across platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram to keep participants engaged and informed.
- Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate, confidential student records and assist with data collection for annual performance reporting to the U.S. Department of Education.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Higher Education, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience working in a TRIO federal program or a similar initiative serving underrepresented or at-risk populations.
- Personal Insight: Demonstrated professional or personal experience overcoming barriers similar to those faced by TRIO SSS participants.
- Core Competencies: Formal training in student coaching strategies (goal setting, time management) and programming that promotes student persistence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: A Master’s degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Student Affairs, or a related discipline.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with TRIO program objectives, federal reporting requirements, and best practices in student retention.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong organizational skills and the ability to build a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
