Repairs and Refunds

Important Note

Do not attempt to open, modify, change, or fix any building equipment or infrastructure systems. Doing so could damage equipment and/or endanger yourself or maintenance staff.

Unauthorized tampering with or altering equipment can result in a significant fine and/or disciplinary action. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Electrical systems or panels
  • Communication systems or panels
  • HVAC systems, panels, vents, or thermostats
  • Other items such as outlet covers, switch plates, light outlets, or door / window hardware

Unauthorized tampering with or altering equipment can result in fines up to $250 and/or disciplinary action.

  • Campus Computing and Telephone: See our technology pages. You can find many answers and solutions by simply contacting OTiS on the menu bar of your Teams App or through the online Help Desk at: https://help.evansville.edu.
  • Laundry: See our Laundry Pages. Submit any problems with non-working laundry machines through Caldwell and Gregory.
  • Vending Machine Refunds or Repairs: Contact Administrative Services at 812-488-2941 for repairs. Go to Student Financial Services for refunds.

Maintenance and Housekeeping Issues - Minor Repairs

Minor repairs for your room or public areas should be noted through our online Work Order system Click the link below to submit a repair request. If you are using a smart phone device you will need the “Asset Essentials” app from your devices app store.

A member of the maintenance staff will come to your room to assess the problem and make the repair. While some repairs can be made immediately, please allow two or three days for action on your request.

Maintenance and Housekeeping Issues - Emergency Work Orders

In the event of a major problem that requires immediate attention (emergency) CALL the Facilities Department at 812-488-2775 between 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

If an emergency maintenance situation occurs after hours CALL the Facilities Department at 812-488-2775, when prompted press 1 to be transferred to an On-Call technician. Please ensure that your message is clear about the emergency work order. DO NOT SEND EMAILS OR LEAVE VOICE MAIL FOR THESE TYPES OF WORK ORDERS.

After making phone contact, please follow up with an electronically submitted Work Order and mark the emergency work order priority as "Immediate". Please note on the Work Order the time you called in the request and who you spoke with (include this in the description of work to be done).

Your RA on duty or residential coordinator can assist in this process.

If you suspect an issue involving mold, contact your RA Staff, Residential Coordinator, or the Office of Residence Life. A Residence Life staff member will do an initial inspection and contact the Facilities Department. See more on our Suspected Mold and Mildew pages.
