The Center for the Advancement of Learning (formerly known as Center for Adult Education) is housed within the College of Education and Health Sciences. Whether you are looking to jump start your college career, finish a degree, advance your career, or have the desire to explore, our Center will be there to assist you in achieving that goal.

The Center focuses on the needs of all learners with accelerated and flexible programs. Most programs are designed with a busy lifestyle in mind. High school students through retirees can find topics valuable in the advancement of learning.

The Center supports an innovative and effective learning environment with support in the areas of instructional technology, student services, interdisciplinary programming, and community outreach.

Using a Process to Enhance Creative Problem Solving

According to the World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report, four out of the top five job skills needed for 2025 are related to creativity, innovation, problem solving, and critical thinking. This workshop will introduce attendees to the Basadur Simplexity Thinking creative problem-solving process to help them solve complex problems as individuals and team members. Attendees will have an opportunity to experience divergent and convergent thinking as they work through a simulated creative problem-solving process. After attending the workshop, participants will be able to apply these new skills in their work and personal lives.
