Lecture Series
The William R. (Dick) Connolly Ethics Lecture Series
The William R. (Dick) Connolly Ethics Lecture Series, sponsored by the Social Justice program, brings ethicists from religious, philosophical, and interdisciplinary backgrounds to campus to explore pressing questions of value, justice, responsibility, and the moral life. Speakers examine contemporary ethical issues and demonstrate how sustained moral reflection can illuminate the challenges facing our communities and the wider world.
The series is designed to strengthen ethical inquiry among students while enriching dialogue within the Evansville community.
Dick Connolly retired in 2013 after 42 years of service at the University of Evansville, where he was a deeply respected professor of Philosophy, known for his commitment to intellectual rigor and his passion for examining the moral dimensions of human life. In recognition of his dedication to the University and his longstanding contributions to ethical inquiry on campus, the lecture series now bears his name.

Constitution Day Panel
Each year, faculty from Political Science, History, and related fields convene a Constitution Day panel to examine contemporary issues of constitutional interpretation, civil liberties, voting rights, and democratic governance.
The panel invites students and community members to consider how constitutional principles shape modern political life and how debates over rights, representation, and the rule of law continue to evolve.
