Assistant Professor of Finance Yasser Alhenawi and Assistant Professor of Marketing Atefeh Yazdanparast have had their paper, “Personality Traits and Financial Decision Making,” accepted for presentation at the Academy of Financial Services 28th Annual Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee in October. This paper is an interdisciplinary approach to analyze financial decision-making at the household level by focusing on the relationship between personality traits and individuals’ financial decision-making process.

Specifically, the research examines how personality traits affect certain financial decisions including demand for financial services and household financial planning. The inquiry has significant implications for the financial service sector such as effective marketing of financial services, and will be used to formulate a strategy to promote financial literacy.
