Lynn Miller-Pease to Present VOICE Findings at UE Changemaker Challenge Kickoff

Posted: Friday, September 4, 2015

Lynn Miller-Pease, chief executive officer of Leadership Evansville, will present the results of VOICE, Evansville’s community-wide, citizen-driven planning process, at the University of Evansville on Tuesday, September 8. The event will begin at 4:30 p.m. in Room 100, Koch Center for Engineering and Science. This is free and open to the public

The goal of VOICE is to encourage citizens to share their ideas for Evansville’s ideal future in order to build strategic actions toward collaborative goals. Leadership Evansville has partnered with Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke in the design and implementation of VOICE. This collaboration has become a model for civic engagement by empowering participants to convert their dreams into action.

Pease’s presentation is the kickoff event for the annual Changemaker Challenge, presented by UE’s Institute for Global Enterprise. While Pease is the keynote speaker, UE President Thomas A. Kazee, Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke and members of the Social Innovation Club will address the group.

The Changemaker Challenge is dedicated to launching the world's next wave of social entrepreneurs and innovators. It encourages UE students to compete in teams to solve the planet's biggest challenges with innovative ideas for solutions. Addressing the theme “Evansville Strong: Local to Global,” this year’s competitors will focus their efforts on challenges and opportunities to benefit Evansville. The Changemaker Challenge provides the top three finishers with seed funding to help make their ideas become a reality. UE students will be in attendance at the kickoff event to learn more about Evansville’s needs and how they might present their ideas for change in the Changemaker Challenge.
