Posted: Wednesday, September 9, 2015

U.S. News & World Report has again named the University of Evansville as one of Best Regional Universities: Midwest in its annual Best Colleges rankings. UE was eighth in this year’s ranking, which is based on measures of academic excellence such as student graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, and class sizes. The rankings are designed to help prospective students and their families evaluate college choices.

The University was also ranked by U.S. News & Report on the Best Value – Regional Universities (Midwest). This ranking is based on the school’s academic quality, and the 2014-15 net cost of attendance for a student receiving the average need-based financial aid.

UE was listed in other Best Colleges U.S. News & World Report rankings as well, including: Best Colleges for Veterans, 8th among Regional Universities (Midwest), 13th among all colleges and universities for the percentage of our students studying abroad, fourth in the Midwest for number of international students, and 12th in the Midwest for the economic diversity of the student body. In addition, UE was also on the list of “A-Plus Schools for B Students.”

“We are pleased to maintain our ranking as one of the Midwest’s top 10 best universities,” said UE President Thomas A. Kazee, “and also to again be listed as a Best Value in the Midwest and recognized for our international character. All of our rankings in the report are indicative of our continual commitment to high quality academics at an affordable price.”

The Best Colleges rankings are available online at www.usnews.com/colleges and will be published in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges 2016 guidebook, on newsstands later this month.
