Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics at University of Evansville invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor beginning August 1, 2026.
Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will teach approximately 24 credit hours of undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses during the 2026-2027 academic year and actively contribute to departmental activities. Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and advising undergraduates.
Qualifications:
Candidates must hold, or be near completion (ABD), of a Ph.D. in statistics, data science, or a closely related field, or a Ph.D. in mathematics with significant experience in statistics or a related area. Evidence of effective teaching of undergraduate mathematics or statistics courses is expected. Desirable qualifications include experience with computer programming, particularly in R or Python, and familiarity with data science methods, such as machine learning or large-scale data analysis.
