Maintenance Technician
The University of Evansville (UE) Facilities Management and Planning department is seeking a skilled and versatile Maintenance Technician to join our campus operations team. This role is essential for the upkeep of our academic, residential, and administrative infrastructure, ensuring our facilities remain functional, safe, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities
The Maintenance Technician provides comprehensive support for our campus infrastructure. Your main duties will include:
- Mechanical & Systems Maintenance: Perform skilled installation, operation, maintenance, modification, and repair of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and refrigeration control systems.
- System Monitoring: Interpret Energy Management System (EMS) alarms and pressure/temperature differentials to troubleshoot and optimize building performance.
- Preventive Maintenance: Ensure the proper operation of pumps, engines, motors, and compressors; maintain electronic test equipment and mechanical tools according to operator manuals.
- Structural & Trade Support: Perform routine carpentry and basic plumbing/electrical repairs based on work orders or oral instructions.
- Digital Documentation: Accurately track repair costs and labor hours using our mobile CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) app.
- Collaborative Service: Promote cooperation, trust, and exceptional customer service across our multi-trade environment.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; or any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the necessary knowledge and skills.
- Licensure: Must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record to operate university vehicles and equipment.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build professional relationships and communicate clearly in a service-oriented setting.
Physical Requirements
- Strength & Agility: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs/ladders, and perform repetitive motions (wrists, hands, fingers).
- Environment: Must be comfortable working in various conditions, including exposure to hot/cold outdoor temperatures and proximity to hazardous building materials (e.g., solvents, asbestos).
- Mobility: Frequent walking, standing, bending, and twisting; ability to operate motorized campus equipment.
