Schroeder Experience
“What experience do you have?”
This is one of the key questions you’ll undoubtedly hear in job interviews, and how you answer it is so important. The biggest advantage to being a Schroeder student? You won’t struggle to talk about experience – you’ll have to narrow down which ones to highlight.
Below is a list of valuable experiences available to students. Each of these opportunities helps you build a résumé that stands out, providing a competitive edge in the industry.
Internships
Because real-world experience is so crucial for post-graduate success, all Schroeder students are required to complete at least one internship during their time at UE. Students can find something close to their hometown over the summer or partner with an organization in Evansville. Internships provide powerful networking opportunities that can help you long after graduation.
Institute for Banking and Finance (IBF)
The Institute for Banking and Finance provides professional training services that not only support local businesses but also increase students’ competencies. The IBF oversees the UE Microloan Program, funded by Old National Bank, which assists small and women/minority-owned businesses. Through IBF, Schroeder students can also participate in an investment portfolio program with Donaldson Capital Management.
Center for Supply Chain Management (CSCM)
The CSCM connects Logistics and Supply Chain Management students with supply chain professionals to offer networking and educational opportunities. This includes case competitions, panel discussions, company tours, advisory board meetings, and more.
Ace: Business Consulting

Embrace

Student Organizations
Outside the classroom, Schroeder students bring learning to life through hands on involvement in a dynamic network of student organizations. They collaborate with peers in professional and academic groups, including the Accounting Club, Enterprise Business and Innovation Club, Finance Club, and the LEAD Forward program, where they apply classroom concepts to real challenges, develop leadership skills, and build professional confidence. Through projects, networking events, and experiential opportunities, these organizations enrich the college experience and prepare students to thrive in their careers and communities after graduation.
