Beyond the Classroom
As part of the environmental studies program, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of research projects, working either independently or alongside our talented faculty.
Our society is faced with a number of environmental problems - most of which we are only beginning to understand. Studying these problems and suggesting possible solutions involves much more than any one discipline can offer. The physical and life sciences, chemistry, physics, and biology are often called upon to work together to examine and offer answers. This is why the study of our environment must be interdisciplinary and should inspire its students to be socially responsible and ready for action.
An Established Program
The environmental studies program at the University of Evansville has existed for more than 30 years. Students engage in an opportunity-rich learning community studying relevant and purposeful material that deals specifically with environmental problems. By the time of graduation, students will have gained real-world experiences through internship or co-ops and will enter the world with a complete and applicable education.
