Explore Greek Life at the University of Evansville
Greek Life Recruitment
Students of all class years are encouraged to explore Greek Life by participating in the recruitment process. Recruitment provides a valuable opportunity to learn about UE’s fraternities and sororities, ask questions, explore chapter values and traditions, and discover which organization aligns best with your personal goals and values.
Each fraternity and sorority at UE offers a unique mission, set of values, and philanthropic focus. We encourage interested students to take time to research each chapter and attend events before making a commitment. Joining a Greek organization is a meaningful, lifelong decision—and one that should be made thoughtfully.
At the beginning of the academic year, several events are hosted to help non-affiliated students learn more about Greek Life. Signature events include Greek Life 101, the Greek Life Cookout, and Meet the Greeks. Students can also connect with chapter members at the Student Organization Fair.

Multicultural Greek Organizations
The University of Evansville is home to three Multicultural Greek Organizations: two chapters within the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)—one fraternity and one sorority—and one sorority affiliated with the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations, Inc. (NALFO).
Each of these organizations follows its own unique, independent membership intake process. Unlike traditional recruitment through IFC or Panhellenic, membership in Multicultural Greek Organizations is typically based on demonstrated interest.
Students interested in joining are encouraged to:
- Attend and participate in chapter events
- Connect with current members
- Follow the organization on social media
- Research the chapter and its national organization
- Complete the Multicultural Greek Interest Form to formally express your interest
These organizations are historically rooted in cultural traditions but welcome students of all backgrounds. The best way to learn about recruitment opportunities is to reach out directly to the chapters or follow their social media accounts for updates on events and membership timelines.
Interfraternity Council (IFC) Fraternity Primary Recruitment

Events are held on campus or at chapter houses and are free to attend. This offers a great opportunity to meet members and learn more about each IFC fraternity!

Informal Recruitment
Informal recruitment offers a more relaxed and personalized experience for students interested in joining an Interfraternity Council (IFC) fraternity or a National Panhellenic Council (NPC) sorority. Unlike the structured format of primary recruitment, informal recruitment is individually coordinated by each participating chapter.
Please note that not all chapters are eligible or choose to participate in informal recruitment. Those that do will host their own events, which may vary in format, size, and timing. Each chapter sets its own schedule and approach.
To participate in informal recruitment, students must meet the same eligibility requirements as those for primary recruitment.
For the most up-to-date information on which chapters are participating, students are encouraged to:
- Contact Rachel Roscoe, Assistant Director for Student Engagement, at rr209@evansville.edu
- Reach out to individual chapters directly
- Follow @UESororityLife and @UEFraternityLife on Instagram, where chapters will be highlighted along with instructions on how to connect
