Test-Optional Policy
Because UE values academic achievement, character, and initiative, it is optional for most applicants to submit SAT and/or ACT scores with their applications. Students will be reviewed based on the high school transcript to include but not limited to GPA, curriculum, and graduation track (AP, IB, Honors, etc.). In addition, it is recommended for students to submit an essay.
Test-optional is not available for applicants to the following programs:
- Baccalaureate to MD
- Direct entry Nursing
- Direct entry Physician Assistant
Students may choose to submit official test scores for direct entry, scholarship, or Honors consideration. UE will consider test scores to be official if they are received from the testing agency or if recorded on an official high school transcript. Common App self-reported SAT or ACT scores are not considered official for these purposes.
