Introduction

The University of Evansville Department of Art believes learning is a transformative process. Students are given a place to build a solid foundation and are inspired to develop strong technical and conceptual skills. With opportunities ranging from hands-on gallery experience in the University’s own Melvin Peterson Gallery to diverse courses ranging from computer graphics, life drawing, and metalwork, the UE Department of Art majors are one of a kind.

The Department of Art houses a number of specialized studios for art instruction, including: ceramics, drawing, metalwork and jewelry, painting, photography, sculpture, visual communication design, and watercolor.
