Beyond the Classroom

Experiential Learning

UE Business students have numerous opportunities to gain real world experiences through internships, consulting opportunities, and other projects aimed at preparing students to succeed in today's competitive business market.

What experience do you have?

One of the key questions asked by company recruiters during job interviews is, "What experience do you have?"

Because of the experiential nature of our curriculum, students in the Schroeder School of Business have a good answer to this question by the time they earn their degrees. Every student in every UE business program has at least one internship experience during their time on campus.

Students also have the opportunity to consult with businesses on a global level as part of our ChangeLab Program. In the program, student groups with the support of a supervising faculty member offer consulting advice to regional companies looking to engage in international business activities. Schroeder students have completed 33 projects for corporations in the past five years. Many of these students are also involved in hands on projects including but not limited to new product development for Escalade Sports and the selling of season tickets for the Indiana Pacers.

As a result, when potential employers ask our students about their experience the challenge is determining which of their experiences in the Schroeder School of Business they should talk about.
