William Phillips

Dr. Phillips is a licensed psychologist, an assistant professor of Clinical Psychology and the Director of the UE Mental Health and Wellness Clinic and Emily M. Young Assessment Center. Dr. Phillips has a passion for working with diverse populations, from young children to adults, providing compassionate therapy and evidence-based interventions. His clinical approach emphasizes care for the whole person, addressing psychological, emotional, and developmental needs across the lifespan. Dr. Phillips is also committed to fostering the next generation of psychologists as he supervises and teaches graduate students in their clinical training, guiding them in integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience. He earned his Ph.D in School Psychology with a cognate in counseling psychology from Ball State University. He also holds a Master’s Degree from Ball State and a Bachelors of Arts from Hendrix College in Conway Arkansas. He completed his internship at Sarah Reed Children’s, in their residential treatment program in Erie, Pennsylvania. Dr. Phillips completed a post-doctoral fellowship with Deaconess Clinic and worked there for several years providing outpatient therapy and assessment services prior to coming to the University of Evansville. He is also a proud AmeriCorp Alumni.
