Student Organizations in History
History Club
The Society of History Scholars is designed for members of the department to get to know one another outside of the classroom. While faculty members are available for advice, the society is run entirely by students.
The society works in close cooperation with the Black Student Union, and the two groups cosponsor a few events.
Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society
The University of Evansville is home to the Alpha Delta Eta chapter of Phi Alpha Theta. Founded in 1921, Phi Alpha Theta encourages and recognizes undergraduate excellence in the field of history. Phi Alpha Theta is a professional society that promotes the study of history through research, teaching, and publication. It seeks to bring students, teachers, and writers of history together, both intellectually and socially.
The Alpha Delta Eta chapter identifies eligible students each spring and invites those who qualify to join.
