Admission Requirements

Requirements for Application

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a regionally accredited school of nursing or a Bachelor of Science in a related field
  • Unencumbered license to practice nursing (Licensure will need to be obtained in Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois prior to clinical rotations)
  • One full-time year of ICU experience at the bedside, two years preferred within the last five years with employer verification-NOT including PACU or OR experience
    (Complete the Work History Verification form and upload it to the University of Evansville Nurse Anesthesia Program application in NursingCAS)
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certification
  • 3.0 undergraduate GPA
  • Undergraduate courses required (within the past 10 years) with a minimum overall grade of B or better: Statistics and Basic Chemistry (No lab required. High School transfer credit not accepted.)
  • Two separate CRNA or Physician Anesthesiologist shadowing experiences with verification forms (complete the Anesthesia Shadow Verification form and upload it to the University of Evansville Nurse Anesthesia Program application in NursingCAS)
  • Please complete the required writing prompt using the instructions provided and submit in Nursing CAS
  • Three professional letters of reference (at least one must be from a current employer/direct supervisor) - Submit through NursingCAS
  • CCRN Required with score report
  • NO TRANSFER CREDIT ACCEPTED.

Students dismissed from a nurse anesthesia or other advanced practice nurse program for academic, clinical, or behavioral reasons will not be admitted to the University of Evansville Nurse Anesthesia Practice Program. Students who have been enrolled in another program and withdrew in good standing or are still enrolled in good standing must have a letter from the program director stating that they are or withdrew when they were in good standing. Students who are in good standing or who left a program in good standing will be considered for admission.
