Summer Orientation 2026
It is important to us that all students are given the right tools to begin their collegiate career at the University of Evansville.
SOAR: Student Orientation and Academic Registration
SOAR is a comprehensive program that begins the process of transition for incoming students at the University of Evansville. Families are strongly encouraged to attend the University's Family Orientation Program which takes place simultaneously.
Registration for each event is necessary in order to be scheduled for an academic advising and registration appointment.
The SOAR program is a day-long, in-person program. Attendance at one SOAR is required for all new incoming students.
International students will attend SOAR III after arriving to the U.S. in August.
Upcoming SOAR Sessions Dates
Summer SOAR registration will open mid-March.
- SOAR I Friday, June 26, 2026
- SOAR II Friday, July 17, 2026
- SOAR III Friday, August 21, 2026
Every new student is required to attend one of the SOAR sessions.
Plan to arrive for check-in between 7:15 a.m. - 7:45 a.m. CDT. Our welcome program starts officially at 8:00 a.m. and we will conclude by 4:30 p.m. SOAR includes opportunities for students to meet with their faculty, meet with orientation leaders in small groups to build relationships with other new students, complete a writing sample, finalize courses for the fall semester, and receive important information about residence life, student involvement opportunities, student financial services, career development, the health center, and other campus entities. Because each part of SOAR builds on the next, students and families should plan to attend the entire program from check-in through the afternoon resource showcase. Arriving late, leaving early, or stepping away during the day may result in missing required information or important next steps.
A detailed schedule and personalized guidance will be provided at check-in. UE staff and Orientation Leaders will be available throughout the day to help students and families navigate the experience.
The SOAR program gives students and their families a special preview of the University community. It also sets the tone of what we want entering students to do: SOAR, achieve new heights and succeed!
If you require any accommodations for SOAR or to register for classes, please contact our Assistant Director for Disability Services, at disabilityservices@evansville.edu at least 1 week before your registered SOAR session.
